Both    Don’t know what your swearwords mean (surprised to have said this)
                                                                               Both    I never swear!

Both    There are some things we share

K         Most blacks and whites live separate lives
C                     Except the rich and influential
                        Who share the bulk of life’s essentials
K         Shops, schools,
C                                    good health-care, church and - and -

                                                                        K                         and wives??

                                                                        C         No, never!

                                                                        K         Yes, never

C         Hope for peace, security

K         Hope for electricity

Both    Hope for some prosperity

Both    A lot of things we share

K         Want some babies on my knee

C         Yes, but it was not to be (wistfully)

Both    Want our country to be free

K         Herald to share his life with me

Both    So many, many things we share
