The Good Life
John Whitestock
Had it Good. Had it fine.
Been top dogs for a long, long time.
Ran the show. Kept you out.
Never thought it would change about.
Many left; had to go.
Couldn’t stand not running the show.
We stayed on. Threw in our hand.
Come what may; born and bred in this land - love my country!
It was tough as the wealth was spread
Millions sharing a slice of the bread.
Twenty years on, nearly there.
Little sign of the old despair.
People start feeling free.
Now’s the time for democracy.
People want change. New ideas.
These old men have been in for years.
President won’t give in
Can’t accept we’re rejecting him
Country’s his, every village and town
If he can’t have it, he’ll bring it down
